Ace Attorney

A fated meeting:

I first came across the Ace Attorney series in the used section of my hometown's GameStop when I was in junior high. Every now and then, when I had saved up enough allowance, I'd show up and peruse through the used DS games, hoping to find something cool to play. I didn't do a ton of internet research on games back then; I went on Pure Vibes Only. One day, I found a game case for Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney: Justice For All. I was interested for several reasons. First of all, I was raised on murder mysteries. My Noni was an avid fan of the genre, and I often fell asleep on the couch to an episode of Poirot, Columbo, Midsomer Murders, or Murder, She Wrote. Secondly, at the tender age of 13, I really wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up (who even knows why). So, naturally, I was drawn to a game about lawyers. I think I spent about $15 on JFA (deal of the century, honestly). Since I started with JFA, I've always had a soft spot for it, even though I know it isn't always the favorite of the fandom. I adore every second of it. Yes, even The Lost Turnabout. YES, even Turnabout Big Top. I can and will fight people about this.

Also because I started with JFA, I started with the absolute best prosecutor in Ace Attorney, Franziska von Karma. She's always my OG prosecutor. I adore that whip-wielding German lesbian.

What you'll find here:

I have a number of plans for this shrine. First and foremost, I want to have an index of my thoughts about my favorite characters and favorite cases. After I get that down, I want to create a section for my recs when it comes to fan work. At some point, I'm going to make a page about my favorite remediations from the games to the anime. Finally, I want to maybe have a page for a liveblog of my next replay. I'd love to have one corner of the internet where I have Every Single Opinion on Every Single Case in Ace Attorney in one single spot.

We'll see how quickly I actually accomplish any of this. But it will happen, even if it's slow as hell.
